1 year since departure!
Congratulations to me for my first year in Dublin!
What's nice is that we celebrate Gea here in Lucca and I eat pizza (or better Pizzini!), in fine weather and the heat!
I think I hardly forget that day when I left, they were several months that I knew that I would leave, but the departure was difficult ... a lot!
airport to greet me were three dear friends, at least I did a little 'company and kept me a little about morality.
12 months long and sometimes debilitating, from:
the search for a room which lasted two and a half months (particularly bad luck mixed with unhappy period for the search of the house), while living in a hole provided by an agency, where I spent just to be in a room, with a snoring so loudly that people woke up even in the other rooms (I imagine)
the work in which I was initially spaesatissimo (I now look like the reference point for others at times!)
relations with the family is not always idyllic (mica always understand you if you make a choice as )
distance from Gea in Holland (and also the unfavorable time zone), but I would say cmq survived just fine!
English, which I thought was much better than it actually was (then the Irish people who take their order not help understanding)
The weather this year was not as bad as I expected, only two things struck me hard, the wind continued from January to April and continuous rain in August.
Then once you find the house (and then changed in the running for the terrible inflation and unsustainable), found the pace of living and working in Dublin, things spin pretty well.
I'm also happy to have met and known many Italians moved down there, very very nice (some not), who helped me with lots of information and advice from real life in that of Dublin.
return Monday that Dublin after a ten days vacation you deserve, because I start my second year of PhD.
Greetings from Italy, Alessandro
